Yesterday I posted about how thinking and focus is shifting from App Acquisition to more App Retention. A good strategy will include both and have tactics that support both.

A good question to ask your team – why are people leaving your app? Here are some reasons and areas where you can focus on within your app. Poor app performance with many crashes, content is poor, customer experience is confusing, too many notifications, lacks functionality, not enough customer communication touch points, app is targeted towards the wrong audience, privacy concerns and downloaded and never used.

Take a quick survey from your team/company and their App behavior on why they stop using an App – compile your results and see how that can help improve your App.

Many times, once the App has been deleted or stopped being used, you won’t get that customer back (into the App).
