Consumers today are spending more that 5 hours a day on their mobile devices. Of that time 92% is within apps and the other 8% is within the mobile browser. I have included a chart from Flurry that breaks down the App categories in which people are spending their time.

What does this mean for you? It is good to get an understanding of how people are using their mobile devices and what the main categories are. This will help with your mobile advertising, where to think about innovations/programs and where to potentially go to be where your customers are. Look at your analytics and see how your customers are engaging with you via mobile.
