The evolution of LinkedIn over the years has been fun to watch. I created my account on October 24, 2007. When did you create yours?

At the end of 2007, LinkedIn had around 16.4 million members. It launched LinkedIn Answers. LinkedIn was “In the black”. Members could add photos to their profile. Dan Nye joined LinkedIn as CEO. LinkedIn moved into its new headquarters in Mountain View.

It was mainly seen as a way to connect to recruiters and to add your resume as your profile. There wasn’t much engagement or sharing of ideas and thoughts like to you today.

Jump to January 2018, there were 500 million members and 250 million that are active with 133 million of those in the US. That right there is a lot of opportunities to be heard, to have a voice, to share, to learn and to connect with all kinds of different professions.

I have seen what people have been sharing over the last couple years and the shift has been pretty cool and dramatic – more sharing, less selling, more collaboration and better content and tools.

I have my network of people that are making LinkedIn better everyday. Thank you for making it enjoyable to engage on LinkedIn!
