It’s Monday and if you are a Whole Foods Market customer you will begin to see some price cuts on certain items such as organic avocados, organic brown eggs, organic salmon, almond butter, organic apples and organic rotisserie chicken. As a bonus, if you are an Amazon Prime member, you will get additional discounts at Whole Foods. By taking advantage of the huge supply chain and the buying power that Amazon has, it will be able to get more value from its supply chain. What Amazon needs to keep an eye on is the quality of it food and to remain true to the organic and natural foods that are the staples of Whole Food. The pricing changes will be part of the long-term strategy and not just a move to get more customers in the doors.
